How to Commission a Piece of Art from Kevin Sprouls

It’s a simple matter of emailing a request, from my contact form with a description of what kind of Illustration you are looking for. You are also welcome to call me at (609) 965-4795 to discuss your requirements.

To arrange to have a hedcut portrait done, the process goes like this:

Find a great photograph of the subject or have one taken. Your photo should be sharp, with good lighting— strong lights and shadows are preferred. Just one good photo is required. Send this as a jpeg, tiff, or other format over to the studio in an email.

Please include your shipping address and phone number with your order.

I’ll do the rest. The photo is processed so that it can be transferred onto the illustration board. The illustration is then created by hand with technical pens in black, india ink. All work is from my own hand.

Included with your artwork is a signed certificate of authenticity, and you receive the original art as well as a digital file that you can use on the web, etc. The original ships to you via FedEx at no charge to you. (International orders will incur an additional fee.)

To Arrange to have an illustration done, the process goes like this:

Call or write to discuss the parameters of your project. Every job is different, and some commissions will require concept development and a sketch phase. I will be happy to consider how to achieve your desired visual objective.

Payment can be made by bank transfer, check or money order or by PayPal invoice which can be paid with any major credit card. Please indicate your preferred method when you contact me for your commission.

Please feel free to call or contact me for current pricing and turnaround time.

  1. Hello Kevin,

I have a client that is interested in getting 3 portrait illustrations, in your style, for a new small business. I have not had a chance to discuss this with them yet so I have no idea what they have budgeted for this. But I am hoping I can get an idea as to how much you may charge before I contact them.

Thanks for your time. I look forward to hearing from you,
    Brandon
