horse2I was rummaging through the stacks recently, and my eyes fell upon a couple of sketches I did a few years ago. In Art School, a professor once told us never to throw your sketches away, so I keep the better ones. The commission was for a film-maker needing a trademark.horse1Not really a member of the horsey set, I have yet produced a few images of this elegant quadruped. Here is one I did for the Wall Street Journal when I headed up the illustration team there. Her name is Northern Dancer:northern dancerAnother Journal Illustration is of another quadruped who is perennially famous around this time of year. Unlike the usual depictions of Santa's sleigh-pullers, this Rudolph is getting his richly-deserved reward for all that globe-trotting. Ho-Ho!reindeer
