A while back, I scored a cool assignment for Condé Nast Traveler Magazine. The writer tailed cyclist Lance Armstrong for a gastronomic tour-de-France. I got to create a WSJ-hedcut portrait of the author of the piece, and a few spot illustrations. Here is the initial layout:
