Illustrations for a French Magazine
A couple of years ago, I did a small raft of illustrations for a French magazine, Stylist. It was a fun collection of celebrity types and a reflection of the times we live in. As many of my commisions are, It was mainly illustrated in my WSJ hedcut portrait style.
Celebrity Illustrations for a French Magazine
First, the famous, controversial actor, Gerard Depardieu.
Next, is the protagonist ‘Furiosa’, from the film Mad Max: Fury Road. It was a bit of a challenge to render the make-up on her forehead. The goggles were fun to draw, though.
I believe from the character on the ‘Empire’ series.
Claire Chazal, a television personality en France.
Last of the celebrity illustrations; The famous star of Home Alone, Macaulay Culkin.

The Editor at Stylist magazine wanted a portrait done of himself. I gladly obliged:

I do not know what the storyline for the article was all about, but it was certainly an interesting line-up for me to illustrate!
