Logo Art and Graphic Illustration

Though I am mostly known as the originator of the WSJ portrait 'hedcut' style, I also engage in more stylized work.I created the image above for a young entreprenour who launched a bath soap line of products made with beer. She was thrilled with the illustration.Speaking of beer, I created a series of illustrations for a beer label. This is one version I came up with. It's been ripped off at least once ( a Toronto tap-house, I think )...Here, you have your barley, barrel, and hops, all in graphic splendor. I created the next image for the same client:I enjoy illustrating in linear fashion. It's a bit more challenging than drawing in the pointillist fashion, requiring more consideration, focus and discipline.A while back, I received a call from a furniture-maker in Pennsylvania. He was making his pieces out of old barn siding, and had many celebrity clients. He proposed a swap: my drawing for a chest of drawers from him. I thought it was a good deal. His designer added the typographical elements:Lastly, an illustration I created for Aalborg, the Akvavit distiller from Denmark. The company was commemorating the culmination of the Second Scheswig war of that era. The enemies came together to toast one another with the spirit of choice.Salute!    Here is the product:
