A Jaunty Portrait
A while back, I was commissioned to do a portrait of a man from another, glamorous era, Hollywood-style. Although the details of the project have become obscured by time passing and the ceaseless jostling of aggregating assignments, I do recall that the image was produced for an exhibit or small museum. The client wanted the full composition of the photo they supplied, but also, a cameo shot. My advice: make two versions of the image.
Here is the full composition. A swank character, complete with driving scarf and a dapper cigarette poised in his gloved hand. I like illustrating interesting historical scenes like this one. It makes my workday more like a pleasant journey.
