Portrait of a Voice Artist

One of my buddies from high school wrote to tell me he hot-linked to me on his own website. Thanks, Joe Murray! It's little wonder that Joe wound up at the top of his field doing voice characterization. When we were in Catholic, All-Boys prep school together (Nathan Lane would be matriculated in the year after us), he established himself, early on, as a prodigy of impersonation. Unlike the archetypal "class clown", Joe was a scholar, holding forth with his personal brand of wit. If you can wade into this video-clip until you reach the Cyclops, you will hear a distinctly true rendition of our "Religion/Sex Education" teacher from freshman year (I kid you not, Dear Reader, I am not making this up, though I wish I were!).http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grWP4axEmr0Of course, you don't have to take my word for it regarding the considerable gifts of my schoolmate. I just received the following news-flash:"The Germ Stamp won two Silver Lion Awards at the Cannes Lions 60th International Festival of Creativity held in Cannes, France from 16 - 22 June. Produced by Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore, and narrated by Joe Murray, the vignette explains how P&G's Safeguard soap campaign raised hygiene awareness among children in The Philippines." Check out this great video clip--- it's uplifting! And Joe gives another terrific voice performance...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PE5E9lcaPZ8So, a few years back, Joe thought it would be cool to have a hedcut style portrait done of himself for the usual promotional pursuits. He provided a reference photo that, alas!, I cannot locate. One like it goes like this:joe murray picAnd so I was glad to hand off to him what I believe he found to be a good likeness.joe~finishBTW, Joe is an accomplished percussionist on the side. One of these days (as in when I move to Singapore), we're going to form a musical group and write original music. Alternatively, we might put together a Doobie Brothers cover band. Whatever you do with Joe, you know it's going to be good...Here's the official link to Joe Murray's website. Give him a shout.http://www.proscenium.com.sg
