A Pre-Covid Christmas, 2019

all images, c. Kevin SproulsHere's a collection of impressions to commemorate Christmas, 2019...My family and I recently made a big move. We transitioned from two houses: one in New Bern, NC, and, and one at the Jersey Shore. We took up residence in western North Carolina in a town called Tryon. We are still transitioning, and settling well into this home, built in 1915, by the artist Jean Stansbury Holden. https://digitalcollections.nypl.org/items/af1a5c90-55d7-0135-fbc5-2b4492e0c0a7Here are we at Thanksgiving. The Carolina Foothills are treating us well. Our new neighbors are friendly to a fault! My wife, Rosemarie, and I at nearby Pearson's Falls. The foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains are captivatingly Beautiful. ...But, I digress!Santa's on his way, on his sleigh, bringing lots of goodies to all the little girls and boys (grown-ups, too!). This is an illustration I did for the Home Insurance company several years ago. It captures an 'old-time' Christmas feeling in a long-ago office space!A Holiday card design which I enjoyed drawing, using lots of templates and fine penmanship! Also, around this time, I drafted a black and white version of a work by one of my artist-heroes, Albrecht Durer... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albrecht_DürerI illustrated this image for a Christmas card, with the terse message' "You Better Not Pout, You Better Not Cry", etc.Leaving you with one of few paintings I have produced, I Wish You All a Happy Holiday!
