Staying with portraiture, and US politicians, here is a grouping of five - always a bit of a challenge to compose, working with separate, individual photos:
I recall Wright , O’Neill, Rostenkowski, not sure of the other two… Perhaps these gents are loosely related to this citizen of the deep:
The shark, above, printed at one-column wide in The Wall Street Journal. I packed a lot of detail into my drawings, then as now!
I’ll close with this illustration of a Naturalist admiring his reptilian friend. Note the groovy background textures, inspired by Elliot Banfield, who regularly illustrated for the. NY Times. I am a big fan of his Penmanship.
